Grief and Loss
Click on the links below to explore helpful resources.

Grief Net
An internet community of people dealing with grief, death, and major loss.  Links are provided for resources, support groups, and a website for children.  The site's integrated approach to on-line grief support provides help to people working through loss and a variety of grief issues (including helping children cope with war).  The companion site, www.kidsaid.com, provides a safe environment for kids and their parents to find information and ask questions.

Child Grief
Website for Children's Grief Education Association that provides resources that help you support and care for children who are grieving the loss of a loved one (emphasis on compassion, care, connection, understanding, and patience).  CGEA offers support to children, teens, families and to those who care for them.

Community Hospice of Jacksonville
Community Hospice of Jacksonville provides group counseling services for those who have experienced the death of a loved one.  Therapeutic support groups are eight weeks in length, and help educate you on common grief reactions and ways to cope with your loss.  Information is also provided on Camp Healing Powers, a therapeutic weekend camp designed to help children ages 7 to 17 who are grieving the death of a loved one. Camp activities help children identify and express their feelings and learn skills to help them navigate through the grief journey.
